[cool][#0000ff]Heard it on Channel 2 news. Scofield is capped and Doug Miller predicts that the whole lake will be fishable (through the ice) by the weekend.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If it is on TV, and Doug Miller is the unimpeachable source, it must be true.[/#0000ff]

I'd feel a lot better if I'd heard the report from someone who had actually walked out on the ice, instead of just some "unimpeachable source."

[cool]While I totally believe the report, I find it very strange that Doug is reporting it, because usually he kind of goes with the DWR flow meaning that they don't report any safe ice on a lake (regardless of what they've heard) until it has like 6-7 inches or more to cover their butts for liability reasons. Anyway, it's good news nonetheless, and thanks for passing it along, Pat.

That's good to hear. We drove by there last Saturday and half the ice was open. Sections by the dam area was iced over, looks like rotten ice with the wind blowing hard up there with a few open spots. Looks like Scofield will be like Cabela's grand opening day, after all, this Saturday.

[cool]LOL! Couldn't agree more, bro. Now that his board is shut down, we have more "guests" on this board. It they register and join right in and give a little bit along with what they take from here, then that's a GOOD THING, but most will not. Good fishin' to ya!

I'd bet Doug is on the pond filming a show for Saturday night; if not today, tomorrow. He likes Scofield, and tends to do that first ice fishing feature there.

Talk about Eliteism .... look at you guys with your nose in the air and all the politically correct equipment. Isn't there supposed to be a little room on the ice for the newbies to the sport? Maybe a tip or two from the "experts"?

Holy @#%$ !!! It's getting to where you have to be real choosey about which posts you read around here. Sounds like too many of us have "cabin fever" or something. Maybe with a few more trips out to fish and get away from problems at home and work, some will calm a bit.
