#1
Who is going to be at huntington this saturday or sunday? I have sat off but that might change come friday afternoon. But theres sunday just in case i have to work sat. [pirate] Anyway if anyone wants to show a beginner a few tricks on the ice that would be appreciated! [Wink] I do have a gas auger so making holes wont be a problem .Also any tips on what type of fishing accesories i should bring? I am not the worm and bobber type of fisherman![Tongue] by the way anyone know how thick this ice right now?

Did you see the reports from us on last weekends trips? I think you might have the lake to yourself. I did OK fish wise on Friday but the conditions were positively brutal. Saturday, even the fishing was slow. I imagine that many members will be out to other locales this weekend, including Scofield. You might want to try one of these spots.

[cool][#0000ff]After this cold snap I'll bet there is ice on Yuba. You'll have to use your power auger this year though. I think you used up all the stone augers last year.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I would like to find those rainbows under the ice. I'll bet they could really pull on your string.[/#0000ff]

With how cold it has been I would bet that all of the slush would be frozen on Huntington by this weekend; however, then you will be facing over a foot of various layers of frozen ice. Shouldn't be any problem with a good power auger. The biggest challenge may be fighting your way through all of the snow to get to the lake from the parking lot. Great time for a good pair of show shoes.

Agree'd Ron.

Ocean I have my doubts as to how many might try and tackle Huntington this weekend now that Scofield has capped so I dont think you find a lot of help there. Whats more the bite should have rolled over at scofield by this weekend.... Best of luck..

[black]Most people park in the main parking lot by the dam and walk down the side in front of the dam, not down the dam. The walk isn't bad, except that the snow may be deep (I would guess four feet or deeper).[/black]
