Grantsville reservoir
#1
Not that alot people live out that way, but went out and drilled some holes and ended bringing 3 out of the hole. Two browns and one rainbow all about 15-17 inches long. Caught on white booger tipped with wax worm in about 12 feet of water. Ice is about 2inches thick but its good solid ice. I beleive I am the first one out there this year. Ice fishing rocks.

Thanks for the report . How was the water level ? Was it low ? I've iced that water a few times in the past .Just about broke thru once I remember after 3 cranks with the hand auger to find ice wasn't thick enough for me . Makes me appreciate 2" of ice .LOL

Hey scottyP I did see that I was thinking of trying it tommorow. I am at work tonight but I might go up after work. Those big cutts are just waiting to get caught for they can be released immediately afterwards so patman can catch them when he gets a chance to head up there.

Hopefully your in bed right now but if your not ScottyP why don't you try to run out to Grantsville saturday morning with the deathman and I. I have some commitments on Saturday afternoon Plus I have another 12 hour shift Saturday night. I can only stay out for a little while so I can get at least 4 hours of shut eye in. If you get this let us know.

Don't fret hellsangler, they work nights and do their posting from work. We don't all work 9-5 and have computers at home. Try to be a little more patient huh?

Made it out to Grantsville at about 7:45 the reservoir is probably 2/3 to ¾ of the way full. Ice is about 2 & ½ inches thick. There is no snow on it and the walk out there is pretty slick. The Deathman & I caught 2 right off the bat but then it went dead. There was a lot of activity on his fish finder but we couldn’t get them to hook up. Tried multiple set ups but the fish wouldn't cooperate. I left before Deathman did as I am at work tonight and he is at home snoozing in his bed. Being on the ice is kind of freaky out there because you can see right through it.

ScottyP, Deathman wants to go up to the Berry on Monday & wants someone to go with him. I told him you weren’t working so if you are interested in going give my wife a call tomorrow morning and she can give you his phone number. Unfortunately I can’t go I’m working Sunday night and have my math final Monday night.

Hells, chill man I don’t feel I’m above anyone and will share freely any info I have. That’s why I gave up all the info I had on Scofield so hopefully it would help others who may be planning a trip. As ScottyP said I post from work and I work graveyard shift. I also am going to college so I’m very limited as to my time that is why I only post from work.

If anyone out there has any plans on unloading a power auger please PM me and let me know. The wife informed me today she was planning on buying me some ice fishing equipment for Christmas. She said if I could find a used auger she would by an ice tent as well. Also if anyone knows where I can find one of those collapsible ice tents Sportsmans was selling earlier this year I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for letting me know about the ice. I live in Stansbury and never thought about ice fishing in Grantsville. Of course that could be because the only thing I have caught out of that lake, was a crawdad. I have only fished it a couple of times during the summer. I may have to give it a second try, this time with ice on it. Does it get a heavy coat of ice later in the year? 2 1/2 is a little iffy for me.
