Ice fishing season has started !

Yes sir , ice fishing season is now open here in mid michigan .
I was informed yesterday from a co worker that Wiggin's lake has at least 5 good inches of ice at the D.N.R. public launch site .
He visited the launch on his way into work , the parking lot was full of vehicals , and fishermen were catching there limit of gills in just a few hours . Not big gills , but fresh ice fishing gills just the same . One fisherman he talked to coming off the ice had a 5 gallon pale half full of the tastey treats .
I can hear those fillets just sizziling in a iron skillet right now , mmmmm , yummy !

You guys on the sunrise side seem to be getting hit with all the snow latley , must make for a long day at work ?
There fishing here too , I'm still trying to put a buck in the freeser .
If I can't get one before saturday I'll fill my antlerless tag . Then I'll get some fishing in .
I had to run up to petoskey last night , dads jeep engine quit at victorys casino and needed a ride back . I didn't pass any lakes on the way , but the snow isn't as deep as I hear on the news .
When is the ice fishing contest going on ? We can probably swing up that way for the weekend .
