[#0000ff]Have any of you been around the 4 stroke Strikemaster Strike-lite ice augers. Two stroke snowmachines have been banned on one of my favorite ice fishing lakes and who knows how long they will allow two stroke augers. I am getting ready to buy an auger and i don't want to get something that is banned in the future. Are these augers worth the extra money?[/#0000ff]

[cool]That's a really good question, and from what I've heard, yes they are totally worth it just from how light they are alone! But, you probably live in like Minnesota or Wisconsin where they let you just drive your car out on the ice, right? If you do, then the lightness of it wouldn't matter a whole lot to ya, but here in Utah, I don't think they let people drive their cars out on the ice. We have to two everything out there by hand or behind an ATV or snowmachine, so the lightness of this new Strike-light would be very cool to have here!

You might want to send a pm to HFT as he owns a tackle shop here in Utah and sells them. He knows a lot about them...

Ok, I want to know who has gotten onto Dan 's computer and typed a message on the Utah forum, or any BFT forum as far as that goes? Welcome back Dan, long time no see. Don't be such a stranger.

Since when don't they let you drive on the ice? I've driven on Scofield before. You'll just have to recover your vehicle if it goes through the ice.

[blue]Hey Kent, thanks for the concern, I had to have my 7 year old type for me I forgot how. It is good to pop in and read some awesome reports from you guys, you can always count on the Utah board to be active. Dang no computer using back woods Wyomingites (I can say that I am one). [blue]Scott, I am living in the 90s too and I don't think a 4 stroke auger will bring me out of them either. I am definitely heading to the gorge this winter, lets get together if our schedules work out, I will bring the fireworks, you bring the pistachios. Btw i have an ice fishing rig that will rival your yellow ski drop if you still have it[/blue][black]. [/black]

[cool]Thanks Fishrmn for clearing that up for me. I wasn't quite sure what the rules are and hadn't seen any cars on the ice before. I think it would be fun to drive a car down the ramp at 'da berry as long as there was a foot or more of ice and I had 4x4 to get back up the ramp or chains.
