Does anyone know the ice condition at Scofield? I'm taking my daughter ice fishing this weekend and I couldn't decide where to go, Strawberry or Scofield. I was at Strawberry on Tuesday with Playas44 but didn't have the right bait. I hadn't ice fished Strawberry this early so didn't know the bigger the jig the better.
Any info would really help.
Thanks, Gabby

fished scofield last weekend, the ice on the south end was 5 to 8 inches thick. with 2 inches on snow on top.
we didn't do that well but still iced 4 nice bows.
people were by the island, along the east side by the dam just about anywhere you wanted to go, you could.
good luck

[cool][#0000ff]Reece Stein did a quick promo on Scofield on the Channel 2 news this evening. They shot it a couple of days ago. Air temp was below zero and the ice was over 6" thick. They caught lots of fish on camera. Some were new planters, others were in the 14" range and one Reece caught looked to be about 18".[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Looked like they were fishing about a hundred yards offshore from a lot of houses.[/#0000ff]

Thanks, I'm headed to Scofield unless my truck won't go in that direction in the morning.
