Went to pelican today, saw a few BFT'ers on the north side but I thought I would take my chances on the South side. OK I lied ....I think my wife knows her never eat soggy waffles (N E S W) better than I do, meant togo to north side appearantly I need a compass.
Ice was good and solid in the morning, but in late afternoon trfishin, a rebel lone fisher like me lol, showed some stuff about the ice that's going to make me be a little more cautious next time. Open water in between the (where the ice lifts up like a mountain). looked like good ice but trfishin shoved his kabob hehe right through the ice with one poke. If we don't get some cold weather, be careful. As far as fishing goes I didn't really do that well in the morning, to stubborn to move once I found 'the spot'. But I can only take so much torture. Met up with trfishin and we found some fish, mostly bluegill, surprisingly tight to under ice reeds. Small jigs tipped-typical. I also hope everyone made it home safe. I left about 3:30 or so and hit awful snowstorm from Tabiona turnoff to bottom of Daniels canyon. Then heavy rain from there. Let me know how you north siders did.
