The last report I read was posted by MGB, here it is:
I took a ride up to porcupine last Thursday. It had ice on half the lake, what was remaining was rotten. The roads where snow packed but was able to make it to the dam easily.

Drove up there on sunday. There will be no ice fishing there this winter unless conditons change very drastically. The ice on the back end looked bad,did not drive around it.
