Hit rockport today looking for some perch. Decided not to get there to early because of the bad reports. Took my daughter out for here first ice fishing trip this winter and for the slow action we had we should have gone to Strawberry. Only caught 4 perch and two small rainbows. We fished east of the 3rd bathroom and drilled several holes looking for fish. Next weekend its Strawberry so she can catch some big fish.
Best part of the day.. Father and daughter spending time fishing..

I had a slow day at Rockport today as well. We fished all day and caught nada. My 6 yr old had a nice one to the hole. Maybe a little green, but the knot that the stupid "guide" tied broke. When you say the third restroom, are you counting the dam? If you count the dam the third rest room is the one with about a hundred cars.
We fished to the north of that lot straight out off the rock point about 300 yds in 41 ft of water.
Other than that it was a great day, sunny cold. the lake was making ice last night. There was a lot of fresh ice today that was not there yesterday.
I saw someone who had carried their canoe to the water and was out trolling the hole.

My truck was one of the 100 vehicles parked there. We walked out towards the northeast from the parking lot.

You did better than us. We were also to the NE, in front of the rock out-cropping. I was told they were doing better more to the NE. The guy who had walked the farthest at 1pm had 3 browns and about 15 perch. He said they were still biting when he was leaving. Several others who came in from there said they had good action.
