Soldier creek info please
#1
I am going up friday night with some friends to a cabin that overlooks the soldier creek side of Strawberry. We are planning on getting up early sat morning and riding snowmobiles down onto the ice to try and catch some fish. Of the 6 of us that are going I am the only one who has ice fished at all.....so this could be very interesting with 5 newbies. I am hoping to get them into some fish before they get bored and just want to snowmobile for the rest of the morning. I am very familiar with the Strawberry side of the lake from the north to the south but have never even been on the soldier creek side of the lake. I really don't want to ride all the way over to the Strawberry side to fish if we can find some on the Soldier creek side. Can anyone give me any recommendations of where to try to catch a few. I don't need GPS coordinates to your favorite honey hole but coordinates about 20 feet to the left of your hole would be acceptable! [Tongue] Just kidding! Any suggestions and directions would be helpful. Are there 2 access points on that side of the lake (by the dam and one other?) Send me a PM if you want to keep it on the down low.... Thanks!

I have never fished in the main body of water on the SC side. I always fish in the large channel that goes north of the main body of the lake to hwy40. Just go to where the main body "narrows" down to the channel and start to fish off points in about 30 ft of water. Where I fish you can actually see the cabins a couple hundred yards away. I also hear that the Narrows between SC and Strawberry are pretty good.
