Fished Maybe pond in Clearfield yesterday and had a very good time. Yper, Yper jr. and a mutual friend we will call "why haven't you signed up yet" fished out of toons for about 5 hours and caught around 15 cats. The biggest was a 5# female that i caught. The rest were "keepers" except one. Last week yper jr. caught a 6# albino on chicken liver. We used minnows, worms and liver. The flashers were a big help due to the fact tha kitties kept moving around. Once you found them they would usually bite. Be back there next week. Everyone is welcome, but it is a pretty small pond.

[cool]Nice report, lunkerhunter2! Now that I live right down the street from there I guess I don't have much of an excuse not to check it out. Are there also bluegills in there? And, if so, are there lots (i.e. would it be good to take a 2 year old for her first time to catch some 'gils too)?
That place is somewhere back behind that Charlie Charlies club off of Main in Clearfield, right?

Yes, but don't waste your time lookin for gills. There are too few to target them specifically. Try the rainbows. While we were there they dumped around 1500-2000 "catchables" off the fishing dock. Look out with the little one though, she might just hook a "brooder". They are fairly large specimins. Some i have seen have been approaching 8#. They are ugly though, no fins at all, not even nubs. Good luck.
P.S. take some minnows and try for cats. Cast as far as you can toward the nest boxes. Also watch for "snaggers" and turn their &%$@#^ buts in. It is a big problem with the albino's there.
Smalls: Depending on where you are coming from makes a big difference. I will assume you know Clearfield. Coming from the south on Main st., look for the baskin robbins and papa murphy's. Pull in the parking lot behind them and head around the service "looking" shop across the speed bump, and you will see the water. Or you can head east from there around the condo's and turn left. There is a parking lot and porta-potties, park and walk past the chain down to the fishermans dock. Hope that was good enough.
