The fishing was fantastic - But, where were we on 03/30/2006 ?
[inline 2006_0331Image0014R.JPG]
Need a hint ?
Clue # 1 - It's in Utah
Clue # 2 - Most of the time, noone is there and the hounds and I have the place to ourselves.
Clue # 3 - The weather that day.
Clue # 4 - If you can tell whether it is sunrise or sunset, that could be a clue - if you have been to this spot at one of those times.
Many of you have been there, and some of you may recognize it immediately.
Need another hint ?

Yeah, It is Vernon.
1st photo - looking west at sunset.
2nd photo - looking west from hills to the east of the reservoir(while following a trail of some large critter)
3rd photo - on west bank looking east at the inlet area
4th photo - on west bank looking north toward the dam
The photo in this post - an action shot on the west bank.
There were bunnies and the hounds did chase or rather, followed their trails. The boys are not built for speed but, are all-terrain mega-olfactories made for distance and endurance. There weren't any crickets yet.

It's in Utah(I don't know where you are from). And, it's south of Tooele and just a few miles south of the Pony Express route on the way to Fish Springs - It's in one section of the Wasatch National Forest.
In the daylight photo(#2) looking out across the southwestern most part of Rush valley, you can see "Look out pass" - that is between Red Pine Mountain of the Sheeprock range on the left, and Little Mountain of the Stansbury range on the right. When I took the photo, I was on the west side of the northern most foot hills of the west Tintic mountains and looking to the west.
I have the GPS location if you want it, but I would have to down load it to my computer first(it's a multi step process to do that).
But, Here's a ball park idea of where I was:
39D 59.102M North
112D 22.376M West
These are from a different hike(last year), but, I think they are close enough to the spot I took that photo that you should be able to locate it on a good map.
Did that help ?
P.S. - HellsAngler69 - ROTF ! As you can tell, I am not worried one little bit about giving the location away. As you well know, it is inaccessible enough, and the fishing is not good enough, to draw any kind of crowd - and, there really is nothing else out there for it to ever become popular with anyone except die-hards and locals.

That ice looks alot safer than when I went out there a couple of years ago. What was I thinking? I hear crickets work well out there, truth or fiction?
