Lake Powell Guide Recommendations.
#1
I've been asked by my uncle to look into some guided trip recommendations for Powell. There would be four of us (me, my uncle, his son and my son) and they want to just get into a bunch of fish and have some fun. We're looking for Smallies and Stripers mostly.

I would appreciate any recommendations you guys might have regarding guides etc. Another option we were considering is to rent a boat and try to get enough info gathered to go it on our own. Bad idea? We're looking at the last week in April. Is this good timing?

Since I'm pretty much a fly guy, I need some pointers on what types of gear and lures to get ready if we decide to go it on our own.

Anyway, I know there are a lot of you here that are pretty much guru's on Powell, so I figured I'd go straight to the experts.

Thanks in advance!

Go to Wayneswords.com this site hosted by Wayne Gustaveson the fisheries biologist for Lake Powell and dedicated to helping Lake Powell fisherman catch more fish. It is an invaluable resource.

Good luck I just got back from Wahweap where we caught 35+ stipers in under a days fishing. (these fish averaged 4-5 pounds and 26")

Good luck
