Tippy Dam stairs remain open

It has been brought to our attention that Consumers Energy will not be closing the access site located at the end of Tippy Dam Road during the month of April. Apparently the job of replacing the electric transmission line has been delayed until May.

I take it that this temporary closure will not affect the north access site will it?

I know it is about a ten mile drive from the camp ground all the way around to the north side of the the dam. I beleive there is an access point to the lake on the north side too. I dont think there is any salmn there, or do they have a fish ladder?

Both sides of the river will remain open , I'ts the Welston side that will be closed in May .
The sign in the Tippy Dam Road parking lot stated that it would be closed for improvements , thus fishermen assumed it would be work done to the stairs .
As far as I know there isn't a fish ladder at the dam but, some salmon have been known to join in on the springtime steelhead run .
