Well we were the third boat on the Lake and it was a "PRISTINE" mourning to say the least...We boated 22 fish and the biggest Rainbow went 4.06 pound's and full of fight. We also had something interesting happen to us we landed (2) browns and I have NEVER done that before...every once and a while I catch one but NEVER (2) in a trip. We had a great time and the weather was good until about noon , standard WIND but well worth the trip. It was good to get the boat out and knock some of the winter rust off.
The Hot bait's were the Orange Copper Humdinger/ behind Precious metal orange Sling Blade, and the Purple Pink Humdinger/behind a Purple pink precious metal sling Blade. We were fishing in 8-18 feet af water straight across from the ramp in the Damn arm of the lake.
Note the 4.06 pound Rainbow was caught at 21 feet on the downrigger when the bottom came up to 24 feet...He must have been hugging the bottom

thanks for the report jared. sounds like you had a pretty good day. last year in april we got a couple of browns too. that lake is funny like that. you get a couple and then dont see them again for a while! walleye have been the same way for us while trolling. but, the bows are always worth the trip and anything else is just bonus. ive done good there on an orange cripplure too- in the past. did you try any scorpions? thanks again for the report. take care, bkidder

Nice report. I have used those humdingers and cripple lures at Strawberry last fall and did well. I have most of the colors but will have to check on these you listed. I should get up to DC to fish. I never think of going there. I can't wait until May for the Gorge. If you ever need an extra body to go with, my schedule is very flexible with my business.

dont let those friendly jabs bother ya! actually sometimes when im trolling i'll stop and do some casting. or sometimes i'll just let everyone else troll while i stand in the bow and cast towards the shore. those cripplures actually work pretty well casted towards shore. so, i guess your question wasnt out of line at all! sounds like deer creek is good- just like it always is this time of year! i'll be there wed for sure. i'll give a report when i return

Dear almighty T.D.: There were some people in the north marina slamming the crappies on monday. The south marina is 6 degrees colder "water temp" than the rest of the lake. It is also very muddy, to the point my sonar would not work properly. I would suggest the north marina if you want to "catch" anything. See willard report from yesterday.
