deer creek/jordanelle
#1
i fished deer creek and jordanelle on wed 4/12. we arrived at deer creek a little late- about 8 am. the fishing was slow but we picked a few up. the highlight was an 18 inch brown that my grandpa caught. the rest were just the standard DC bows. after we were done fishing deer creek we stopped by jordanelle and fished for a bit. it was about the same as DC only windier! all bows, no browns- unfortunately. it was good to get out on the water for the first time of the year! probably heading to the gorge tomorrow afternoon.

oh yeah- we trolled most of the time. we fished all different depts, even down to 5 or 6 feet deep. (bottom depth- right by shore) it didnt seem to matter, it was slow. we casted several differnt lures towards shore as well. just one of those days i guess. we saw some other fisherman who were working the shore harder than we were- they said it was very slow today! so, i guess we'll get them next time. it was good to get out and work out some of the winter kinks!

You don't know if you don't try, too bad you didn't do better but it makes the goods days that much greater. Where did you fish at J?

when we got to jordanelle it was pretty windy so we headed into the rock cliff arm and fished. then we went to the other end of the lake, not sure what its called. (it used to be called clarks when my grandpa used to deer hunt there) the fish we did catch there came on the rock cliff arm. we were bucking pretty big waves on the other end and didnt catch anything.

My brother and I ran up there tonight after work and could only catch 3 between the two of us. The biggest was only 13 inches and not much to see. Floated all over but the only fish we could find were in 5 to 15 ft of water. Caught all of them on a Tasmanian Devil fished very, very slow. Didn't see any other fish caught while we where there.
