I met this girl not too long ago, and as we were talking, she said that she loves fishing, football, and hockey. I nearly fainted. As soon as she gets back from a family reunion, we're headin out. Wish me luck ]

Sounds like you may have caught yourself a keeper, you may not want to practice catch and release on that one.
Good Luck!

[cool][#0000ff]All I can say is be careful. Those danged women's magazines are full of articles that tell the ladies how to manipulate men. Part of that is in the initial "attraction". [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Tactic #3B is to "Tell your guy that you like his favorite sports. It helps if you study up on them a bit beforehand, just in case he asks a related question. Usually the man will just stand there with his mouth open. In that case, you have won the first round and he won't question you. By the time he gets around to testing you, he will either be totally hooked or you will have already decided to dump his sorry self."[/#0000ff]

Don't believe it! I had one that said that, and even went fishing with me quite a bit over last summer. Last week she started getting on me for fishing and hunting so much, and told me that after we were married I wasn't going to be able to do them anymore. Hahaha, right? She wasn't kidding, so I wasn't, either, when I said good bye.

[cool][#0000ff]Before I married TubeBabe, who really likes to fish, I was married to a woman who decided that it was up to her whether I went fishing or not. Everytime I wanted to go fishing (especially by myself) I got a lot of grief.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I finally got a couple of really nice rods and reels for her. Man, that was the best trade I ever made.[/#0000ff]

Good on ya..
Its just my opinion that if person (be it male or female) is so selfish as to not allow other the simple pressure of fishing and hunting that person is not a keeper, toss them back.

Yeah, be real carefull of them dude. I started dating a girl awile back and she really has not shown any interest in going fishing with me, yet has not disparaged my fishing in any way shape or form. That is alot safer to me than a woman who shows an 'interest' in my hobbies. I fish to catch fish and experience solitude, not to have a female following me around asking a bunch of silly questions. Thats what my kids are for (my ex started out just like to gal you describe).

Thanks for the tips guys...we'll see this week if she knows what she is doing with a rod and reel. If she can't tie, cast, or rip a worm in half, she might find herself thrown back with the other fish in the sea. But if she actually knows what she is doing, that will be grounds for a very possible keeper!

Just a reminder,,Theres a HUGE differance between liking to fish and knowing how to fish as in tying knots, casting, choosing the right equipment or lures, and so on.. After all, we all had a starting time in life as far as fishing and some of us put far more into the fun than others do, and thats all good.. So I see NO reason to toss someone back thats willing to take part in the fun of fishing no matter how little they know about the sport, or, a person willing to allow you your pleassures whether they enjoy the sport or not. Like anything else fishing is a sport/hobby of "each to their own".
However,,Those not willing to allow a person the pleasure of fishing should have an appointment with a big heavy rock on a gunny sack!
Just KIDDING!!, or am I? [ ]
