Fished Maybe Pond again today in the snow and rain. Started at 2:40 and left at 3:25 with 4 good sized cats for the deep fryer. Lost 4 and released 3. There were tons of planter rainbows splashing and jumping around. I think they stocked it this morning.
I used minnows and small chunks of perch meat. (I used perch because i caught a small one in there this year right after the ice came off).
They should start stocking channel cats into the community ponds within the next 2 weeks. The size and amount will drastically increase.
Watch for rabbid ducks and geese! They almost took me out today. LOL.
I got soaked sitting out there, but it was worth it.

Careful there Mr. lunker. Yellow perch are not legal to use as bait in the Utah Community Ponds. The 2006 proclamation states:
(b) Dead yellow perch may be used as bait only in: Deer Creek, Fish Lake, Echo, Gunnison, Hyrum, Johnson, Jordanelle, Mantua, Mill Meadow, Newton, Pineview, Rockport, Starvation, Utah Lake, and Willard Bay reservoirs.

DOH! I had someone tell me last week that if there were perch in the waters you could use them. Guess they were wrong and i was too. It will never happen again! Chub minnows work fine anyway. Thanks for the heads up catman.

We fished the pond a few weeks back and it looked like they had just stocked it with brood stock. We got a rainbow and an albino trout. They were quite large. Very ugly but big.
I have fished that pond since they opened it up and have never seen a perch come out of there. It seems they have a habit of showing up where they really don't need to be.
It is a fun little pond to take the kids and I have seen some nice cats come out of there.
Hey Mark [hydrotech] have you fished it lately?

No prob. I'd hate to see ya get busted for something you didn't even know - and such an easy thing to comply with.
Thanks for the report. I'll be out at Salem Pond this Saturday.
