Head up the river out of town about a mile or two, there is a pump house where water is taken from the river. It creates a hugh hole there which in past experiences is great for fast and furious cat fishing all year long. Great place to take kids also. Just ask a local for directions to the old pump station. Good Luck Lonnie

One over looked place in Green River is the state park. No I don't mean fishing off their dock. I mean the Golf Course. They maintain ponds (water hazards) diverted green river , where you can soak a hook. A couple of years ago with the family on vacation. The boys and I have a blast over there. Mostly cats and nothing big, but bites on every cast. Matt caught something I didn't know what it was. My guess was some kind of sucker. We let it go as we did with all the fish. So if your staying at the state park you can walk over from your camp.

I just got back from Green River, spent part of the kids' spring break at the State Park. Did a lot of hiking, but did not do a lot of fishing, but with the time that I spent shore fishing ( two hours), I did not get a bite. Fished the docks at the State Park, nothing there, water was flowing fast and furious, very muddy, almost need a pound of sinkers to get your bait down fast to the bottom. My line would pick up a lot of debris that I thought that I was getting bites. Also tried one of the ponds at the State Park, no luck there either. Also tried a spot off Hastings Road (east of the State Park, a couple miles upstream from the State Park), the flow was a little slower, but also no bites. I was fishing with nightcrawlers, but also tried some shiny spinners with no luck. Hope you have better luck than me on your trip.
