[crazy] Went to Tibble Fork Resevoir 4/23, got there around 7:00am stayed until 11:30am. Did'nt catch anything using worms but my buddy got a dinker (brown Trout 12 Inches) using a small kastmaster lure. I saw the fish jumpin all morning and the water was very clear, very nice morning.

you have to use the golden ticket when fishing tf. my wife went up on saturday morning, and fished for less than an hour. we landed two rainbows and missed three more. we fished on the bottom with about 3-4 ft of leader from our sinkers. we used chartruese glitter powerbait. agree with ya, it was clear and beautiful. try power bait, thats all i use when i fish spin reels. fly fishing the inlet is deadly most of the year round.

I've caught alot of fish this time of year up there using a light pink midge, sizes 16-18. I tie a little and that is a easy one (just pink dubbing). I need to get up there and try it again. If you fly fish it's a blast. Or just put it 3ft. behind a bobber and reel in real slow. Like I said I caugth alot of fish all pretty small, there's a few big mama's in there though. I've been up there in the evening and caught up to 15-20 in just a few hours, it's a blast.

Fishdog78,
Use a "cast-a-bubble" instead of a "bobber". The reason for the cast-a-bubble is just for the weight so you can cast it with a spinning rod. Thread the cast-a-bubble on the line so the larger portion of the center pin is toward the fly. If it is reversed casting will push the pin out. Fill the cast-a-bubble about 1/2 to 2/3 full of water. I like to put a snap swivel below the cast-a-bubble (a split shot will also work but sometimes slides down the leader) then the 3-4 feet of leader. You do not need to retrieve as fast as a lure but vary the retrieve speed. It is a lot of fun and works well in the Uintas also.

just dubbing....sounds more like a scud or shrimp. a fun fly to tie would be a size 20 red bead head midge, tied with red thread and silver wire, with a little tail, like 2-3 deer hair fibers. i like to also fish buggers up there. but last saturday, we fished with a bubble and then on bottom, and all hits were on the bottom. use the golden ticket! tight lines

When the fish are jumping I have always had success with a bobber, about 3'to 4'of leader and worm or salmon eggs.

I like Tibble fork for the camping and the fishing even though I rarely catch anything. If you keep going up the canyon above tibble fork towards the Mineral Basin there is a great lake I like to backpack up to and camp out at. Pittsburg lake, it is very small but you always make a killing with the fish. The hike is straight up and lasts about an hour and a half.

I'm don't tie flies all that much, scud would be more of a acurate label. A few years back I was up there trying a little fly fishing and was getting nothing. A nice man came over and showed this pink scud and gave me one. the next time I had tied a bunch. Big, little, beadhead, etc., and caught quite alot? Haven't been this year, going to willard in the morning.
