SAND HOLLOW TUBING REPORT
#1
Just got back form Sand Hollow yesterday and the fishing was awesome.[Smile] We got there late Friday night so we hit the sack and awoke to a calm lake so we lunched our tubes and got ready to go catch some fish. It started out slow, probably because we had never fished there before and the fact that neither of us had ever fished for Largemouth bass before.[Sad] Finally my friend hooked up with a 1.5-2 pound bass, that got the blood pumping.[Smile] We started getting a few hits and we caught a couple fish and then the Wind came up so we headed for the truck to eat lunch. By noon our total fish count was 5. We drove around and found some flooded brush and decided to give it a try and I guess we did something right because the rest of the day was on fire, we caught fish after fish after fish. I hooked into a good bass and the fight was on, several minutes later I had a nice 4-5 pounder on the bank, after a couple quick photos I let him swim free. We fished until dark and then went to bed. Sunday morning the lake was glass, so we got in our tubes and went fishing. All I can say is wow, those couple hours in the morning were magic, we caught a bunch of bass in the 1-3 pound range.[Smile] Those bass sure do put up a fight especially the big ones, they wrap you around trees, bushes and everyhting else but they are FUN!!! We packed up and headed for home at 2:00 on Sunday. The total fish count for the trip was right around 80 fish give or take a couple! A BIG THANKS TO jj74 FOR HELPING US MAKE THIS TRIP A SUCCESS. We saw him down there while we were there and got to meet him.[Smile] I will be making a return trip for sure, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. I am officialy hooked on Bass fishing now![Smile][Smile]

Hula Grubs and Senkos[Wink] I am thinking about trying my luck up at Jordanelle or Starvation for some smallmouhjt but I think the water probably still needs to warm up a bit, I think I'll be able to go back to S.H. in two weeks![laugh] Until then I'll have to stick to northern Utah. Oh yeah, the water temp was anywhere from 56 to 62 degrees down at Sand, depending on the time of the day.

Thats a deal! Untill then I'll stock up on supplies, I think I'll buy some buzzbaits, they look like they would be fun when the water warms up a bit more!

Its all over now. That's exactly what happened to me 5 years ago. I now own a bass boat, truck and thousands of dollars in gear. Now all you have to do is fish your first bass tournament and its all over. Trout are fun, but they are just a gateway to bass. Nice bass. Those senkos are a blast to fish weightless.
