Ogden Youth Fishing Club Help

If anyone who wants to give a little of their evening time back to the kids of Ogden their kids fishing club needs one or two volunteers. This is an 8 week class that the UDWR and Ogden City co-sponsor each year. This year Ogden has 60+ kids and feel that one or two additional volunteers would greatly help the program overall. The club meets on Wednesdays at 6-8 pm at Glassman's Pond.

You would think that we could drum up a couple of anglers in the Ogden area to help you out Drew. There seems to be a number of people on this board from that area.

If everyone could see what this does for a kid when they hook into that first fish ever. Or the little 7 year old girl last night at the Midas Pond Club who hooked up with 9 fish! Wow was she ever excited. It is worth your time and effort to get these kids into our sport. And always remember that the future our sport depends on these kids!

You will never regret time spent helping a child learn to fish.

I had a similar experience this week with the Orem Youth Fishing Club. I had a kid who caught his first fish on his last cast. Another caught seven and he was as excited as the young man who caught his first fish.

This will be my fifth year as a volunteer and nothing beats seeing the of a kid who catches his first fish or his hundredth fish. Well worth the time and the effort!! Again, these kids are the future of our sport.
