WENT TO ROCKPORT LAST SUN. THE FISHING WAS THE SLOWEST I'VE EVER SEEN THERE.. TROLLED AROUND AND DIDN'T EVEN PICK MANY UP ON THE FINDER... THEY SEEM TO BE LETTING ALOT OF WATER OUT AND LEVELS ARE DROPPING..

Thats too bad, over the past three years I have not really caught anything at Rockport. I went about a month ago also and nothing. I dont think i'll be going back anytime soon. The fish have lockjaw or have vanished?

I've got a friend that runs the conession at the boat dock area at Rockport. I was talking to him earlier today and he said that it is really slow up there right now because the level is way down in anticipation for the spring runoff. It should pick up in a few week when the level rises.[Smile]

Well Rockport has always been slow for me, but ive never fished it with a boat before. So why do low water levels mess up the fishing anyway, the fish are all still there arent they?

Only thing that I can figure is that they are staying down in the deep portion of the res. My buddy said that he can ususally walk out on the boat dock and see fish swimming there this time of year but so far, NOTHING! Lets hope that this is not a sign for this great fishery.

Yea lets hope! Rockport is such a quick drive from the SLC that I would fish there a lot more if I had better results on a regular basis. Does anyone know if they allow dogs at Rockport?

I think all the smaller reservoirs will be slow until the run off is over. With all the run off comes lots of feed for the fish. So they don't want what we have to offer
