I am thinking about getting an Endura electric motor for my toon. My questions are:
1. will a 36 pound thrust motor draw less power than the 30 pound thrust motor on lower speeds?
2. How long can I expect a battery to last if I troll on the 2-3 setting most of the day?
I just want to make sure I will have enough battery power to last through a full day of fishing.

I use a 36 lbs thrust on my toon. How long your battery last depends on the battery you use. I use a trojan scs225 last me most of the day at full throttle. Now they have sealed true deep cycles that are the bomb. Cabellas sales a good one or call hensley battery in slc they are the battery experts. they will hook you up right.

I have an endura 30# that i used on my 12' boat for a long time. I have a cheap walmart deep-cycle battery and it did very well on my boat. With 2 guys and all our gear, we were trolling from the south marina clear to the freeway on the east side and all over in between. Alot of the time, we were on 2 and 3 but i did run at 5 for probably 1/4 of the time. Just had to watch for a south wind! Scary with that setup!

I run a 30# minn Kota on my 9' pontoon with a 100 amp hour Trojan battery. It works great for me.Depends on how you are going to use it I guess. On Two or three, the battery should last all day.On the Minn Kota site, max amp draw on the 30# is 30 amps,34 amps on the 36#
