[mad] Tired of getting skunked at Willard the whole month of April, I'm heading to Jordanelle or Strawberry this Saturday and I'm taking my boat. Can anyone give me an open water report? Hoping to launch at the RockCliffs at Jordanelle or MudCreek at Strawberry.
I already know that the Wipers will be biting like crazy on Saturday so everyone can go ahead and mock me in advance for giving up.

I used to N.ot have E.nough T.ime O.ff to go fishing. Then I retired. Now I have less time than I had before. Sheesh.

I'm with you, NETO bro. fishin's been slow, but water temps are comin up fast. 'Nelle water was all open, lake super low. Rock Cliff ramp very steep, water muddy at ramp as high Provo River boils in. Fishin was slow last Friday and Sunday, but the fish we saw taken were quality: nice browns, 20"+. Smallies still deep and sulky: marked a lot of fish at 35' deep but few bites on drift, none when trolling. Friday wind didn't help and wind and rain got us around 11 a.m. on Sunday. Shad-colored and fireside crank baits for Browns is what we heard, but we didn't get 'em. Some other lucky boater did. He was the only one of four captains we talked with who had had more than two fish on Sunday.
Later, and tight lines!

Hey Randy, you need to keep fishing Willard. I hate to tell you this, but one of us needs to know how to catch a wiper at the tourney, and I was planning on you being the one![unsure]

...doh!
I was hoping I could lean on you! Just kidding! I'm pretty confident that by the 20th they should be biting, but I spent every Saturday that I was in town in April at Willard Bay and never caught a fish! If it wasn't for my 2 Powell trips I would have gone fishless the whole month! One of those Saturdays at least "our boat" caught one Wiper, and it was a good one! Almost 20 inches!...but I wasn't the one that caught it!
Heading to Pelican Lake on Monday so I'll still be practicing for those "warm water" fish species!...looking forward to the 20th!

Thanks for the info Big_n_smallie...
Sounds almost like a repeat of last year. That Rock Cliff arm was chocolate milk well into June and even July! We'll probably still go and get shellacked, that way it will make me want to to back to Willard!
