SAND HOLLOW ON FIRE!
#1
[Smile]Got home Sunday night from Sand Hollow. We got there Friday night and went to bed. Saturday morning we awoke to calm water so we launched our tubes and started catching bass right off the bat, we caught over 100 bass on Saturday between the 2 of us.[Smile] We caught quite a few 2-3 pounders with a couple that were around 4-5 pounds. It was an ausome day. We even caught a couple bluegills. Sunday was a little slower but we still managed to catch a ton of fish, we had strikes or caught fish on nearly every cast. It was unreal. The water temp was 62 degrees on Saturday morning but by the afternoon it was up to 70![Smile] The lake was glass all weekend except for the boats. My thumbs are so sore, I lipped so many bass that they wore my thumb raw! Give this place a couple more years and I can't even imagine how good it will be!!! Total fish count for 1.5 days fishing, WAY over 100 fish!![Smile]

One cool side note, the bigger bass must have been on their beds because they would swim up and grab your fins and ours, we even had some jump in the air right in front of us, it was sweet.[Smile]

Those are some nice fish. Were you just using plastic worms are was there something that was working better, like crank baits or spinners?

I am going down there this weekend. Me my wife and baby. what would be better from shore or from tube. Iam going to be using plastic. Or would spinners, cranckbaits be better. I know this was posted but can someone give me the instruction to get there from st. George. My grandma lives down in st. george. So we are going to stay with her. Any info would be awesome. If anyone wants to meet up there let me know.

I was using plastics, Senkos for the most part. I caught one fish on a crankbait, but the rest were on plastics. You can catch tons of fish from the shore, most of them will be smaller but I have caught big bass from the shore, we caught more big bass from our tubes in the deeper water though! I came from up north but If you get back on the freeway from St. George you can go up to exit 16 and exit, the exit takes you onto SR-9. Just follow SR-9 for several miles until you see the Sand Hollow State park sign on the right hand side of the road! Hope this helps you guys.[Smile] There were a lot of bass jumping so maybe a buzzbait would work as well. Most guys down there seem to use buzzbaits that are white.

Okay so which of those fish pictures is 4-5 lbs because I don't see it.

I'll be down there this weekend diving and while I wait fishing. I guess I'll get to see what's really down there first hand. This should be fun watching bass on their beds.
