Strawberry Access to Renegade!
#1
Is the road open to Renegade? Has anyone fished there yet?
Is there enough open water for a float tube? Thanks for your help.

I called on Tuesday morning and lady at the store told me that the road was still blocked with some pretyy good snow. We are heading up tomorrow and will be launching our boats from the main marina. The lady told me that all the ice was gone so I am sure that there is enough open water for a float tube if you can get it back there.

You should be O.K., just float your way up there.

I drove by Strawberry yesterday and there was no sign of ice anywhere. Infact it was quite windy and the surface was had alot of white caps. I was only on I-40 so I couldnt tell you about Renegade access. But from the looks of snow pack all around, you should be able to get back there no problem, discounting possible snow drifts.

I was on the road to Renegade Saturday. You could only drive about a mile from the Strawberry Marine turnoff then there was snow. The snow is melted were the sun shines all day but it is still several feet deep where the sun don't shine. That was Saturday. Probably melted quite a bit since then. I did not see any boats on the water Saturday, just float tubes. I am going up tommorow and will launch my boat at Strawberry bay.

The road is open and people are launching boats from it. Was there today with my brother and there were atleast five boats of different sizes launched while I was there. There are snow drifts in the road in places but nothing you couldn't just drive around on the other side of the road. Had to go in the dirt once but that won't last long. There is no ice anywhere.

So witch is it? Tues its still blocked and Fri. it is open. Knowing the road it does not seem like it would clear that fast.

Both sound right to me. We can now access the road but have to drive around some drifts. Thanks for all the help, DKS.

The whole road isn't 'open' but there is atleast one lane available to use the whole way with one exception where people are driving around the snow in the dirt. I watched a 18 ft boat launch. There are no docks though. I spent 90 minutes in the visitor center waiting for my ride and the ranger was telling people they could make it but at their own risk.
