Good for you Marty,, its always an adventure fishing with the grand kid/s. I agree with Ocean, the standard stuff should get the job done. I'd suggest fishing near or on the old gravel boat ramp at the park. It usually holds a fair number of cats and slimers for the little fellas to battle with..If that area dont get the job done head for the head of the pond and fish the narrow.. Best of luck ol buddy..

Hey road there are definitely still tons of bluegill in there, as well as green sunfish. I have seen lots of bluegill earlier in the spring at the far south end, and last year I caught several green sunfish from the small 'duck pond' on the southwest corner next to the main parking area. It is shallow and doesn't look like it has fish in it but it was chuck full of them last summer.

Here is a pick of one (my son sure enjoyed it, and he was only 1 at the time):

Thanks CM we are just leaving and I thought I would check the board one last time. Hope this weather hasn't turned them off. I'll take my daughters camera and post some pics when we get back.

The kids had a great time, didn't catch any fish, but then you have to fish for them LOL. Great little park. My grandson made friends with the geese there. It was too funny he was walking around tryin to honk like them. Arms tucked under his armpits waddling away. When his mom went to get him the geese chase her down the hill and nearly into the pond. Way funny I thought she was ten again! Now if she can find the cable for her camera I will post her pics also. Him and the geese are just too cool!
