I went up to Deer Creek last night after work in hopes of getting to play with the fishies. I started fishing at about 7:00. I casted lures and had a couple hits but didn't hook up. I then got out my flr rod and on my second cast, WHAM!!
], I hooke dinto my first smallie on the fly, it was a blast, it took forever to get him in. Those things are a blast on a flyrod. He was 14 inches long, I caught one more bass on my flyrod then decided to go after some trout. It wasn't long before I hooked into a nice rainbow, it was a pretty bow. A few minutes later I hooked into another good fish, it turned out to be a pretty nice brown, nothing big, but it was a nice fish. Then I headed for the truck. I left at 9:00 in order to get out of the canyon before they closed the road. I only took one pic, its tough when your by yourself. Oh yeah, I was fishing near the island. It was a pretty good 2 hour fishing trip.[] Anybody flyfish up there for smallies, whats a good fly to use? I was using a black wooly bugger on a sinking line.
