Ogden River 6/14

Hit the Ogden today in the canyon. Fishing was tough... the water rose a good foot while we were there. They must have started releasing more water from Pineview.

Had a few browns on that long released themselves. There was a nice hatch out, but I brought the spinning rod... doh! []

Thanks for the report, sorry to hear you didnt do well. I know the flows have been up and down, but should start to level off soon. How far up the canyon did you go?

About a mile and a half or so up the canyon. I grew up fishing that river, and before yesterday probably hadn't gotten skunked in a few years. Oh well, I'll bust out the fly rod next time.

I'll have to plan on doing an all day'r up there soon. That's fishing from Rainbow Gardens to the Oaks... Long day, but it's tons of fun!

I used to fish the Ogden alot, but in the last couple years the fishing hasnt been as good, more trash in the river here along the parkway, and the flows are up and down. I grew up right by lorin farr and now i bought a house right by where i grew up, the river is right behind my house and i still have a couple honey holes right out my gate so i grab my flyrod and hit it every once in awhile. Latly though the warmwater fish have been calling for me and i just cant resist.
