Yper Jr. and i hit willard this afternoon from about 1:30 to 5:00 and had a blast slaying the wipers. We ran over a pod of fish with the sonar and threw a marker bouy for fun. It turned out to be a very wise choice! Whenever we would get within 200' or so of that bouy, we had atleast 1 fish on and we doubled up twice. Yper Jr. had a great time as did i. We landed 12, lost 4 at the boat, lost 5 or 6 longline and had about 10-15 other strikes that didn't connect. All wipers and no walleye this time. All of the fish were atleast 16" and the 2 biggest were around 20". The lure(s) of choice were Rattlin Rapalas in chrome/black with a red throat, and the green prizm rap in the second smallest size. It was a pleasant day on the water and virtually no bugs till we hit the cleaning station. I'll try and post pics in the am. We launched out of the north marina and headed south. Trolling speeds ranged from 2.8-3.2 with the higher speeds being favored. Water temp was warm to the touch.(I forgot to pay attention to the temp. Probably about 70.
Also pictures of the "Iricondji" My little jellyfish.

[cool]Nice report, Lunkerhunter2! Sounds like the wipers are really getting active now, and it should only get better for the rest of the summer into October or so. Man, I've gotta get back out there!

Jason nailed it, but he missed the part where i am BORED of catching them. LOL I needed a break and the storm probably gave them tail-in-mouth disease(lock jaw).

Nice pictures and report Lunk! Glad somebody is fishing and catching. I'm still trying to get the skunk smell off from Saturday at Pineview. I had a rough day. Got to the lake way early started out of the no wake zone and the new Verado wouldn't come off idle. Not sure what happened there. Got the boat going then snagged up on a tree and with a flick of the wrist I snapped an Ugly Stick. Then I continued to get skunked. But I did manage to see and hook a tiger for a second or two. No fishing for me this weekend. I figure I better mow my lawn that went to seed a week or so ago. Neighbors are starting to give me that look [mad]. I wonder if my neighbors would feel better if I parked the truck and boat on the lawn?[sly] Catch a few for me and if you get time how bout a moment of silence for my Ugly Stick. haa ha ha

You know you can take that broken Ugly Stick to wally world and they will replace it for you. Ugly stick's have a warranty on them. If it's an older one don't tell them how old it is.

Thanks Elk, They won't be taking this one back. My brother said "I went Iraqi." When it snapped I broke it in half, then half again, and probably half again. All while cussing, "you wanna break you piece of @#?!, I'll break ya. I've hated you from the first day I bought you. You heavy no fish catching piece of @?$!." My brother wanted to laugh but didn't dare cuz I was fired up. After my fit my brother said quietly, "they would have replaced that pole if you didn't break it in a thousand pieces." So I had to spend the rest of the day picking pieces of ugly stick paint, fiberglass, clear coat, etc out of the boat.

Yeah you can't blame the pole. I had a spare. It broke where the two pieces come together. I can say the 50# power pro didn't break even when I tryed to break it. That's some stout line and casts great.
