Trolling for bass at Deer Creek 06/22/06
#1
[#505000]Well I got my buddy with the boat out and Deer Creek last night. Fishluvr and I got him set up and away we went. We fished the Wallsburg Bay with no luck then moved over to the Midway flats. I was trolling a silver and black rapala, and Fishluvr a gold and black rapala.[/#505000]

[#505000]We were a good 100 feet off shore when my pole went bendo and I reeled in a small smallie. I released the guy and put in again and in a short amount of time I caught another smallie trolling. After giving it a gillectomy and throwing it back (just kidding. It's fun to watch you bass guys panic!! [Tongue] I let him go completely unharmed, to get bigger) my action was done for the day.[/#505000]

[#505000]Fishluvr then proceeded to get three decent sized trout in short order then fishing turned off for us all. We had a bunch of kids with us so Fishluvr and I did all the catching (watching poles) and all the kids did the reeling (including our buddy with the boat who never catches anything)[/#505000]

[#505000]Not the fastest fishing trip ever but no skunks and we all had a good time.[/#505000]

Here are some pictures from our trip. We had a fun time, even with the slow fishing. I just wish we had some downriggers so we could get more lines in the water and cover more depth.

The first two attached pictures are of the bass we caught while trolling and the herd of kids we had aboard. The last picture is of the smallest trout we caught.

It is always nice to see people taking kids fishing!! Looks like you and the kids had a great time. Was there much boat traffic,I guess during the week and not the weekend it would be nice. I am a little surprised nobody has made a comment about the kids without life jackets, but I would have to assume they are over 12. Great to see you getting those kids addicted to fishing!! Have a Wonderful Weekend. [Smile][Smile]
