Yesterday my mom and dad wanted to go out fishing, and my dad has a freind who said there were big fish in Causey, so we went back there. I got there about 9 A.M. with a family friend, and fished of off the dam. My family finally showed up about 10:30. In that time I didn't have a single bite. None at all. So back down to Pineview.
I got them rigged up off of the shore on the North side with a worm and bubble. I was marking some perch, or maybe crappie, in that area, and I figured they'd catch something. In the mean time I was just wading around there with musky lures. Well, the fish weren't perch. Not crappie. Not bass. Not carp. Blue Gills. Nice, decent sized blue gills. Sat there and nailed probably 25-30 in a hour or so. Nice to see them making a come back in there atleast.
Finally I went up when they were leaving around noon. I figured I'd fish from the toon untill 7 or 8 and try for another musky. HAHAHA.
Some S.O.B. took both of my Oars, my net, and a fish basket out of the back of my truck! I don't know whether it was at Causey, or Pineview, but someone took them! It's not like they were even that nice! The oars were beat to heck. The net was just a little mesh one with a broken fishing rod handle. And the basket was a standard wire fish basket. That pissed me off more than anything.
That officially screwed my plans to heck, so I said screw it, I'm going home.
I don't know what's wrong with people. I'm just surprised they didn't have the sense to take my cooler. It was full of pop and snacks. If any of you out there have any idea who it was, or was the one who took it, do me a huge favor and email me at jrryjnsn@hotmail.com
I know a lot of people read these forums. I don't have the $$$$ to replace the oars (gas kills plain and simple. $100 for just this weekends excursion). So, that officially ends my pontoon fishing until I can replace them or get them back.
I was driving my Silver 2001 F250. The oars were black, 7'ers that were all scratched and dinged up. The net was attatched to a South Bend cork rod end. And the fish basket was starting to get a little rusty. Thanks in advance for any info you can get me. Jerry
