Brighton 7-16
#1
I spent the day up in the Brighton area to avoid the heat in the Valley. Started out with a hike to Catherine lake. It was pretty slow. I did catch 8 small brookies. Picture of the largest is attached. I fished Martha and Mary on the way down. Drew a blank on both of those. I then just hung around until evening to fish Silver. I fished it from about 5:00 until dark. I caught about 60 planter bows and small brookies on a fly and bubble from a tube.

I was up there yesterday too. The fishing was great for us, but my group was using jigs tipped with worm. I had the fly rod, so I was limited to fishing to the fish I could reach, and only got a few. Just a heads up, but there are no fish in martha, and I've never caught a fish out of mary, although I know they are in there, I just can never catch one. What patterns do you fish in catherine and silver? They seemed to like renegades yesterday quite well Smile

Thats a nice looking area up there. Shoot I didn't even know there were ponds up there. I have only been up there to ski so everything was white.

Sure is a beautiful area. Pretty brookie as well. Thanks for the report.

The only thing that they would touch at Catherine was a renegade. At Silver I used a brown leach (best) and cadis tied with deer hair.
