I was using my electric bow mount yesterday and the power kept cutting out. I would jiggle the fuse for a bit and it would usually start working again. After a while the fuse got really hot and actually melted the metals together. The wire is pretty good sized gauge. Is the fuse too small? Are they supposed to get hot? Any help is appreciated.

If it had been working before OK I would check all the connections first from the battery to the motor. A loose connection will make things heat up and if the wiring size is marginal they will really heat up.

I will check the connections. The in-line fuse I spliced in had a smaller gauge wire with it, that might be it.

I had some problems with mine, put a heavy duty 40amp fuse and fuse holder in.Which is allright if the rest of the wiring is the same gauge
