Well, we decided to get out of the heat and smoke and head up to the Uintas Thursday. We have done Trial many times and several in Murdock basin. I was wondering if there might be another one worth trying past Trial, and maybe with a little bigger fish. We will be in pontoons and tubes and probably need to park fairly close with the Toon. Any good ideas for a day trip to the Uintas?

Past Trial is Tea Pot, Lost Lake, Mooshorn and Teapot. There is also Mirror and Washington but I haven't been on them yet this year.
As far as bigger fish I'm really not quite sure where to go up there.

Washington is close and chucked full of fish. Like the last poster, I'm no so sure there are bigger fish anywhere up there, but fishing can be fast.

Thanks guys. I think we will flip a coin once we hit Kamas. If Trial has tiger trout, may end up there. It will be nice to get out of the valley

There aren't a lot of places in the Uintahs to catch "BIG" fish but plenty of places to catch lots of fish. One of my favorites is the Sulphur CG its beyond Mirror & Ruth a ways, don't know how far, maybe 20 minutes. It the summer the stream turns amber colored and the brookies are fun to catch on a flyrod. Nothing big, but fun, This CG usually gets little pressure in the summer on the average weekend, but everything fills up on holidays.
Another place is Mirror Lake, I caught a nice 18" Albino last year on the backside of the lake where the shore drops deep very quickly, I kept getting hard hits on spinners but couldn't pull anything up until "big bertha" swallowed a 3" long red & white spinner, the only thing sticking out her mouth was the leader, thought I snagged a tree trunk and was scared I'd lose her, but finally was able to land her and boy was she good eating. That is the same day I saw the ferret or mink.

I like Butterfly Lake if I'm doing roadside fishing. From a tube you can reach some good spots that shore anglers cannot.
