Mantua Question
#1
I am planning on fishing Mantua this weekend. I know they close it down and only allow the local on it. Does anyone know what day they are closing it down? It is usually around the 24th.
Thanks in advance for the info.

They close it down? Locals only? Ha, ha, good luck with that. I was not aware that Mantua was a private lake with no public access. I think only the state can close it down.

Define local, site the statue. Let me know when this "closing" is. I'll bring Gephart.

Apparently you have never fished Mantua. They do close it down for locals only one day a year. Mantua is a very small town and it wouldn't be hard to shut it down. I don't think it is a state lake. As far as I know it is used for storage water for brigham city. It is one of the few places that you don't have to pay to launch. I have never seen the DWR up there just the local police to patrol it.

Just so you all know, Mantua is a state lake but the park is city. We wiill go up occasionally from willard and patrol it. I actually had to go up and pull a broke down boat off of it just the other day. I will tell you all this watch out for the mantua police, they have quite the reputation.

Are you working tomorrow Jeff? I think the wife and I are going to try it for a few hrs in the morning, from 0600 until 11:00 or so, we'll probably launch out of the North Marina. We'll be in the Black/tan Crestliner with the BFT flag up front, probably start in the NE corner then bounce down to the Cottonwoods I guess. Give us a shout if you see us.[cool]
