Earl,
From one new member to another, you're a standup guy! Can't believe it was left to you in such a small craft to help these people! Good on you, sir! A 10# wiper is waiting for ya next time at Willard! I guess those others just ignored these folks so it wouldn't IMPEDE upon their good time. Shame on them! Where I am from (northern California saltwater), not helping a boater in distress is a big no-no!!!!

[cool][#0000ff]Welcome to the board. Good report. Glad you were able to help. Seems like a lot of the power squadron folks develop a kind of blindness on the water. They can't see when they are interfering with other people's enjoyment...or when someone else is in need of help they could provide.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I'm sure none of those other boaters were BFTers. We generally do a pretty good job of trying to help others in trouble. Sounds like you will fit in fine.[/#0000ff]

Welcome aboard, glad you helped the people in trouble out. Ive, already towed a boat in from the upper end of East Canyon earlier this summer. I know I may get rocks thrown at me from some of the fisherman on this Forum because they were actually several of the younger generation that had been water sking, but hadn't been bugging anyone. One person was out of the boat standing in waste deep water to keep the boat from hitting the bank. When I towed them back to the dock they wanted to know what they owed me, I just told them to give us Fisherman a break on the water.[cool]

Normally boaters will help each other out especially if they have been towed in themselves. I carry 2 flags so I can flag down nearby boats otherwise they usually think you are just swimming or they just don't pay much attention to you. This saved me out on willard one evening in the late fall when the only boat out there was a long way off. they said that they thought we were skiing until they saw that I was waving 2 flags.
