Just got back from Navejo lake in Utah.
#1
I went up to Navejo lake for a few days with my girlfriend. Its always nice to get out of town and enjoy nature and do some fishing. Its definatly a beautiful lake which i want to float tube soon but because i went with the gf i stuck to conventional shore fishing. Day 1 was alright we got there late it was already mid day so the heat was on so i figured out fishing wouldnt be active but hey who knows might land a nice one. My girlfriend with the few first casts of powerbait she landed a 3lber (18 - 20inches) definatly the biggest fish she has ever cought and the biggest one of the weekend, the rest of the day consisted of a 3 - 4 more fish ranging 1 - 2lbs. Day 2 we got up early break of dawn, fishing for trout upon sunrise is usually the best, but unfortunatly we didnt even get a bit until 10am where i landed the only fish on powerbait all day 2 - 3lber .Powerbait being effective with anglers the day before didnt even give us more then 2 bites all day and one fish. Last couple hours i said ehhh im gonna start using some spoons and spinners and sure enough cought 3 nice sized trout on that krocodile spoon rainbow pattern, fish ranged 1 - 3lbs.

All in all it was fun wish it were just as active as the last time i went up there to the lakes when i rang up 20 -40 fish but we cant always have killer days. I do have to say the fish we caught were much bigger then the last time i went up to Navajo/Duck Creek/Aspen area which definatly was the plus of this trip. Will upload some pictures once i get them on the computer.

Next trips coming up (High Sierras (Bridgeport), Kolob Res. and Panguich lake) all coming up in the next few months hopefully

hi kurve, i live in vegas but i do all my fishing in utah as im from there and don't know any better[Wink]

the secret to navajo is get out in the middle, like you wanna tube, and throw spoons or jigs and bring em back in fairly fast just under the surface. last time i was there about a month ago i managed 22 rainbows in just unde 3 hours from 11 am to 2 pm. all my posts are on the utah board cuz thats where i fish. anyway, if you have any questions or wanna chat with someone who fishes utah drop a line....
