Green river being sold?
#1
I saw on Fox 13 today at lunch that there is a piece of land 360 acres around little hole that is going to be auctioned off by some group in Utah. They didn't talk about this durring the broadcast but on the bottom of the screen in the scrolling news it said that this group hold a trust fund for the schools and that they were going to auction off the ground? Does anyone know the real story behind this? What does it all mean to us fishermen? Will we still be able to fish it from the bank or are we going to have to float it and play the "you can't touch the ground under the water" game?

From what I understand the land is on the far side of the river from where the boat ramp is now and that a group wants to build a flyfishing lodge there.

I don't know how bank access will work but at the least it will be an eyesore.

And as a semi permanently occupied residence, it will cause a certain amount of pollution. There would have to be bathrooms, showers, kitchens, and all of the related waste products created by those facilities. Laundry, food, gas, oil, and who knows what else. It needs to be looked at very carefully. I was hoping that the DWR had been successful in getting the whole thing shut down, but it doesn't look like it now.
