Ok, now that i have your attention, here is my camera hunting report for today.
I sold a drier to a lady in West Valley and had to deliver it to her. On the way there, the weather was geting worse so i tried to hurry and get home. After i dropped it off, the sky broke and i asked my son if he wanted to see the huge dump trucks at Kennicot copper mine. Of course he said yes so we headed to the mine.
We got there only to be told no firearms(concealed weapon) were allowed onto the property. After an extra 30 miles i was not going home. We drove down the road a mile or so and i dug a hole in the brush and burried it. I know, wow!!
Anyway, back we went. Paid the 5 bucks and entered the mine. Had a blast and we had a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The superintendant was there getting ready for a senator conference. He came up and asked if we wanted a pic standing right next to the 3 story behemoth. Something never allowed before. Way cool.
Ok so then we started back out of the mine and back toward the gate. We got about half way back and i saw some deer right on the side of the road. The closer i got, the more antlers i saw! Pulled up next to them and couldn't believe my eyes! 3 bucks with drop-tines, and about 5 with an enourmous glob of antler at the bases. Some weird genes in the deer there. All were bucks, about 17 with one bruiser(see pic).
After that we saw about 40 deer in the next mile of road. No other bucks though. As we got closer to Magna, i looked out the window and saw a herd of elk about 30 strong with a huge 7x7 running them ragged. I threw out a half-hearted bugle and he immediately screamed back! Got a few pics and had to say goodbye. My wife doctored the pics a little, but they are still not very good quality.
P.S. The buck in the upper left of the first pic has the huge drop-tine. Enjoy, and think about these monsters for the next week or 2.[cool][]
