[black]What a great report. Randy! Those spawning kokes are really beautiful and the fall colors in the hills will knock your socks off! Logan Canyon, even when it was raining yesterday, was gorgeous. Thanks for posting up your pics![/black]

Thanks !! Boat is fine , it has been me out of commission lately .Missing about 3 weeks of work in the last 2 months didn't help my pocket book much . My fuel in my truck was getting old so I went to burn it off . I only fished from 4:00pm to 7:30pm saturday with about 20 kokes on my hook . Not enough time to take the boat .

Great photos Randy. Did you catch the Kokes out of the stream by the visitors center? [Smile].

Sorry but the streams are closed my friend . I fished the big Ole lake . Keep waiting for the cutts to move in on the shallows but with the wind they never came my way fishing in the free parking areas . The only cutt I caught I stood for a spell watching the ripples in the water and seen him surface and bingo hooked him when my lure hit the target . You really out to try it sometimes , fishing from shore that is . Can be great fun . If I would of got there earlier I might of paid my $4.00 to hike to one of my honey holes but it is about a 45 minute hike from the paid parking area .

[cool]Nice job, Randy and thanks for sharing the pics too. It's amazing that you can catch so many non-panfish so close to shore with just a light 'ole jig which don't even go very far when casted. Can you eat the kokes this time of year, or does that meat suck after the spawn out? Just curious on that. I'm sure I'll be seeing you out on the ice again in a few months at the usual perch locations... Glad to hear you are feeling back up to par these days...

Hey Geoff , I not sure how far you can throw a jig but I can get it to where the fish are on my good days . LOL Maniac reapers didn't go to far out , but good enough . I actually was looking for bows near by but the kokes kept me busy . I hear they are not good to eat so I would not recommend them for harvest . Most of the fish I caught were males but my first koke was a female koke . I usually only hook the females on cloudy rainy days but it was partly cloudy so maybe that is why I hooked a female koke . Must take extra care of the females when hooked because they carry the eggs . Plenty of male kokes around as always . Shore fishing is getting good at the berry and only going to get better .
