Utah Lake report
#1
[black][size 3]Went to UL for a Sunday morning leisure sit-by-the-water-and-see-what-happens-kind-of-day. [/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Took the stink worms, carp meat, shrimp, minnows, chicken livers, and stinky sticky stuff. Took the poles, tackle, and the chair.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Left lunch sitting at home on the table right next to the camera.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Sky was clear to hazy, don't know the outside temperature, but it was comfortable with just a touch of wind. Water was calm to lightly rippled. Didn't take the water temperature either.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Set up one rod with a piece of carp, and another with some chicken liver, then, I cast them out as far as a 9 foot rod would send them.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Sat down, watched the water, and waited. I might have been possible to have been more relaxed, but I probably would have had to have been asleep to to have been. No jet skis, no motor boaters, no dogs, no guns, no people.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]It was just one of those days when the fishing part of fishing was the only part I really cared much about. [/size][/black]
[black][size 3]One rod finaly broke the trance by dancing at the tip. I reached up, reeled in a white bass, dropped it in the basket. Changed baits - stink worm, and tossed out the line again.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]After settling down and letting another nap or two slide by, I noticed my other rod was wiggling(for how long I don't know). I grabbed that one, reeled in a cat fish and put it in the basket. Changed baits - liver, and tossed out the line again. This time however, I added a strike indicator that makes noise.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Another chance to rest my eyes was interupted by a sound made by a bottle that my line was wrapped around for an audible strike indicator(As a fish takes the bait and pulls on the line, the bottle is forced to fall on the rocks and make noise). This time it was another bass, and in the basket it went. Changed baits - shrimp, and tossed it out again. Reset the audible alarm set-up, sat down and relaxed. [/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Woke up again by the clank of a bottle hitting rock. Looked up and the tip of the rod was bent. Got the rod out of the holder, reeled in another cat fish and put it in the basket. Changed baits - shrimp and a stink worm and tossed it out.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]The last chance for a nice long nap was ended by another bass that just had to wake me up to come home for fillets.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]All in all, a good day to be out fishing. [/size][/black]

[black][size 3]Hey Theekillerbee,[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]No the cat fish were not of the larger variety. But, it wouldn't have mattered if they were or were not. They could have been mudcats for all I cared on sunday.[/size][/black]

[cool]What a nice day out, fishhound! Darn those pesky fish, interupting a great nap and all...

Question for you. What exactly is a "stink worm?" Maybe I'm familiar with what it is and you just call it something else...
