[font "Comic Sans MS"][size 2][#002850]It’s a whole month away (Saturday, November 18th) but since several folks have already asked about this year’s 4th annual Salsa Boyz party, I thought I would go ahead and make an early announcement.
In years past we have had much fun getting together for the Salsa Boyz party at Bear Lake. For those of you who are new to the BFT Utah board and are wondering just what this gig is, here is some info:
Back in 2003, several of the regular BFT Utah members were comparing notes about home made salsa. We were trying to think of a way to get together to share some salsa and do some taste testing. We come up with the idea of meeting together at Bear Lake and do some chips and salsa taste testing while fishing together. Well, over the years, there is not much salsa up there any more but the name “Salsa Boyz” has just kind of stuck and provided a great excuse and opportunity to get together for some friendly fishing on Bear Lake.
Last year, around about noon, when the fishing had slowed a bit, we all pulled the boats together to eat lunch and share all kinds of stuff. We had everything from salami and cheese to supper HOT peppers. It was a fun lunch time. This year we will see what new tasty treats show up.
Even though the party is never intended to be a “competition”, we always wonder just who will catch the biggest fish of the day. Last year the bragging rights went to AFDan. He horsed in this nice 13.5 lb laker:

Man, I’d like to hook into a nice fish like that!
Most guys that join us will be fishing from sun up to sun down. It will probably be pretty damn cold in the morning so go prepared.
Most boats will probably have a walkie-talkie radio tuned to channel 16.
Unless the weather is supper bad or if I have to work, I will definitely be there.

[font "Comic Sans MS"][size 2][#002850]I got a goodie box of cool BFT stuff today from TheAngler. He asked me to give it out at the Salsa Boyz party on the 18th (a week from this Saturday). Here is an inventory of the stuff he sent me:
.. 3 black BFT “T” shirts
.. 1 black muscle shirt (I guess it has no sleeves).
.. 2 boat flags like the ones we used at the wiper tournament
.. 3 black BFT stocking caps
.. 1 4” embroidered BFT patch
.. 2 supper 3-D 4” embroidered BFT patches
.. 1 8” supper 3-D embroidered BFT patch
.. 2 white vinyl BOYYAA window stickers
.. 5 yellow/blue BFT window stickers

I plan to have lots of steaming hot Western Calico Beans for everyone to eat at lunch time. And I’ve heard of other tasty stuff that will show up there too.

I am going to have to miss out this year. No floatation capabilities so I volunteered to work some overtime. Trying to put some $$$ away for the holidays and hopefully a boat that isn't a project for me.

[unsure] As i told you in the Pm, I will also be absent from this great extravaganza. I wil be in Laramie wyoming getting things set for my daughter to go off to college. I am hoping to go up again the day after thanksgiving like I did last year. Weather Permitting.
