Yper jr's first duck hunt w/pics
#1
I picked Austin up at 5:30 and we headed to Howards Slough.
The morning started off very slow and got slower. After about 1 1/2 hours, the birds started flying ahead of the storm. We shot a few shells but no birds. The front came screaming in with all of hells fury! 40+ mph winds, rain, and sleet. It lasted about 20 minutes and the rain stopped but the wind kept pushing.
The birds finally decided to cooperate and we each shot a box plus some. After a few flocks and missed birds, a good low flock of redheads came in and we each dumped a bird. I got a hen and Austin got a beautiful drake.
We finished off our shells with only 1 more bird. A merganser(ooogh![crazy]).
There are also pics of last weeks snow goose and ducks from BRBR. Enjoy.
