The one in Midvale was visited by BassAckwards and I today and they have most of their stuff. I went to the one on Riverdale saturday and they have some of their stuff out, but not as much as the Midvale location. You can bet I bout a few Genz Worms, a new rod, perch eye-ball gouger, etc. Anyhooters, just thought you guys would like to know that are getting the itch to drill some holes...

[cool][#0000ff]"Perch eyeball gouger"? Foo foo stuff. Ain't you man enough to just gnaw 'em out...by biting the heads in half first?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I suppose you also got a "fly string"...to help unzip during mitten clad cold times.[/#0000ff]

[black][size 3]Hey O4T,[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]I went yesterday to pick up a few things. Yeah, all the new stuff is out and ready for everyone's donations.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]An eye-ball gouger ? What does one of those cost ?[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]I got mine for 25 cents at DI a few years back. It was a baby food spoon that I took home and sharpened with a dremel tool. Scoops out eyes beautifully - like digging into a grapefruit.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]I also saw some plastic fish eyes there for sale - However, I didn't see any fish-eye attractant when I looked at the smelly jelly section. That would be about the only kind of attractant that I don't have yet.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Do you think that will be the next hot creation from the smelly jelly or pro-cure folks ? [/size][/black]

Absolutely not! Ice fishing cannot even compare to the real thing. It's what you do when you have cabin fever in the winter and are desperate to catch something. I dread the day when the Berry freezes over! That means the best fishing season is over and I've got to wait until ice-off to fish there again. Luckily, we still have the Gorge, which is usually fishable in the dead of winter.

[cool]Fishhound: 2.99. Guess I got ripped off, eh? Perhaps I need to spend more time at the 'ol D.I... As for those rubber fish 'eyeballs, they do look rather rediculous, don't they? Funny thing is, two years ago I was at the rock ice fishing along and not getting that many perch. This was "pre fishfinder" days for me and I wasn't quite at the right spot, but there was this guy about 20 yards away from me that was knocking 'em dead. I went over to chat and see what he was using, and he had one of those little tiny golden jigs sold at WalMart called a "trout magnet," and what was he tipping with??? Rubber fish eyeballs, I kid you not. He gave me a couple and invited me to come over to his spot and fish by him. I must say my catching greatly improved the rest of that day, so they DO WORK. However, I prefer the real perch eyeballs or as some "locals" call them: "puch eyebarr's."

I’m ready to start walking on water. If this warm weather stays around I may have to go back to work. If anyone knows of any ice forming and want someone to go with them give me a heads up.

Went with the Otter Northern Wilderness package. [cool]
It will fish 3 and 2 very, very comfortably! Going to put the addition on it like last years version for the deluxe 4 man. Should be a good time on the ice.

OH YEA, can't wait until it gets here. I should even be done with all my elk hunting by the time the lakes freeze. Come on cold and snow! Heck maybe I'll even make the trip to the Berry that I have been threatening for the last 7 years.

I agree with my esteemed co-fishermen Mr. Nabit. Ice fishing sucks, please tell all your friends. You would never see me out on that stuff; it's dangerous, nobody EVER catchs fish and it's time better spent indoors on projects such as; cleaning the basement, tying flies with all synthetic fibers, finger painting pictures of your biggest trout, reading War and Peace in it's original language, learning how to knit a very nice lavender bow tie to wear to your next "men have feelings too" banquet, creating a wonderfull snack from granola, unenriched natural rice flour and garbonzo beans and last but not least...weaving a blend of lace and silk under things to wear when your just not feeling yourself.
Yep, thats how I would spend my winters.....if I didn't have 700CCs of raw power strapped between my legs running rampant on lakes with more electronics than the best Russian fighter plane. Of course, I have my less then tender side and have too resort to the airboat with a 135HP Lycombing sitting behind me that does 35MPH at idle.
Ladies and gentlemen of the board, heed well these words Mr. Nabit has spoken. He is certainly Utah's answer to the Oracale at Delphi!
IFG
TD, I know you'll delete this but it's past your bedtime and a few might get a chuckle out of it before you do. Even if you agree with it, it's your job and I understand. See....I have a sensitive and understanding side.
