Rockport

[Smile]Fished Rockport this morning for five hours looking for perch. No perch fished in all depths from ten feet to sixty two feet not a bite. Caught lots of rainbows in five to ten feet of water. Ice is four to six inches.

I had a couple of free hours on Saturday afternoon so I made a quick trip up to Rockport for my first ice fishing trip this year. I got there around 3pm and fished the West side out from the cliffs. I was in 40-43 feet of water and the ice was 4-5 inches thick. I ended up with only 4 perch and a lot of missed fish, I was getting better as time went on. Some of the guys around me did a little better with more time. All in all, not exactly great fishing, but it was great to finally get out.

Also, I finally got to use the fish finder that I got from petty4life that I rigged up similarly to a lot of the setups that have been shown on BFT (Thanks for the ideas everybody![cool]). I will have to take some pictures of the setup and post them sometime.

Three of them were 8-9 inches and the other was around 6 inches. He is already cut up into bait.

Petty, I don't see a reply.

What happened to the good old days of perch fishing at Rockport? I want to take my 3 year old out on the ice this year and a good perch trip would be perfect.
