[cool]Anybody fish it (or have friends that did) this past weekend? I'm just wondering if there's safe ice yet out into the perch zones (i.e. deeper water). I'm going perch fishing this weekend and was thinking about rockperch, but I'd prefer to fish somewhere where the fishing is a bit better/faster...

I talked to a guy in Sportsmans on sunday that was just coming from there and he said he got out to 20' of water, but the wind was blowing so hard that is was blowing water up on the ice, so it may have erroded some. Today is the 1st day back at work in almost 2 weeks so I don't know how the temps have been, but I do know there was a lot of rain last thursday up here, so it must have been a little warmer.

[cool]I'm thinking about that REALLY hard. Thanks for the tip. Only problem is that BassAckward is going to have his kids with him and he's afraid the access areas to that ice by the dam is too steep for the kids to go down. Maybe we could go to the Cemetary Point area, eh? Is that less steep to get down? He wants to go to the rock right now, but Pineview is actually closer to my house barely...Also the thought of catching some crappies through the ice with a chance of a tiger and perch is very appealing...

Go around the gate and it is an easy walk to the water.[]

The north, or left side of the dam has easy access. Just pull off where everyone else has and walk on down. Bring cleats.

Try the Marina on the west side, park in the parking lot on the right side just after you drive by the shack, or park at the boat ramp. The kids can catch a bunch of perch.
That is one of the easiest access points on the reservoir in the winter as long as the road is plowed. We caught Crappie and perch up there yesterday at 45ft deep, on Ice Cut'r lures in glow and chartruese holographic.

I was up at the nell today no ice over 20 foot of water I took my boat down the edge and only found 14 to 16" depth and all the fish I caught was in 20 feet and deeper....

you should atleast be able to get on some perch for the Kids.
