Pineview and East Canyon.
#1
I hit Pineview this morning with my daughter's boyfriend.
We were on the water before the sun came up. The temp was -20.
We went south off of Cemetary Point. We fished in about 35' of water. The fish were coming through on the finder, but just wouldn't hit.
We gave up just before 10 and headed to EC.
We were on the water by 11:00 and I caught a fish on the first drop.
We left at 2:00 with both of us having limits of trout. The biggest was 19" that Scotty brought to the top of the ice on his last drop.
The fishing was very fast for the first hour and then slowed down to just steady.
It was fun trying the new two pole thing. Had one minor mixup when I caught a fish that wrapped himself up in the other line and one major when the two lines got tangled while jigging. I had to cut the lines to get them apart.
It was a little wild when both poles were bobbing at the same time.
The temp only warmed up to 15, without the wind it was a very nice day to be on the ice though.
Neither one of us brought a camera, so no pics.
When we were cleaning the fish, one of them was clear full of little minnows. I don't know what kind they were, they kind of looked like somekind of sunfish.
Most of my fish were caught a red headed jig with a green body that Tube Dude gave me. Thanks Pat.
They didn't seem to really care what color you had on, just if you had a meal worm on. I did catch one on a wax worm.
We were in 52 feet of water and the fish were right on the bottom. I would watch them on the finder come up and hit the jig. It was great fun.

Myself and a buddy fished echo yesterday with pretty much the same luck we got there at 0645 and did not catch a fish till almost 1130. It was worth the wait that first fish was a 22 1/2i brown. Then within the next 10 mins we landed to small bows and that was it we left at 200 we are headed to east canyon tom. morn. Is there ay hints you can give me for a good area to look for I have never fished it

We fished Pineview near the dam this morning, on the ice before daylight and it was -4 when we left the truck. And all it got was colder! But the fishing was pretty good for perch and crappie. We actually got into crappie early, and then settled in with the perch as the morning went on. DeYoungFisherman had a hot hole, pulling 3 11+ inch perch up!
Dinner tomorrow - fried fish fillets, baked beans, cole slaw, hushpuppies, and fried onions and potatoes!!!

Maybe next time, I will get there a little later so I can see.
We tried to go on the north side, but in the dark it was too hard to see a good way down to the ice.
We went around to the Cemetary Point because I knew we could walk there.
Should have gone closer to the dam, I really wanted to get into the crappie and perch.
Glad to hear they are still biting.

I haven't fished EC but one time before this trip.
We were more towards the inlet end of the lake. There is a pull out with a bathroom, we were back one pull out from that point.
We walked out about 100 yards or so and only drilled holes once.
We found we were in 52 feet of water and the fish were right on the bottom.
I did catch a couple about half way up.
Most of the fish were catch deadsticking the jig.
I did catch one reeling up very slowly and chased a couple others up and down to entice a bite.
Around the boat ramp at the dam end looked like a small city. I would try and get away from people as best you could.
Where we stopped, the bank wasn't quite as steep. It was still steep, but as least we could get the sled to the ice without killing us.
Good luck.

[cool]Yeah, with a little looking to find, but they are still biting.
Here's a couple of shots of my perch, and the way I like them to look the next day!
My wife dipped the fillets in some cajun spice mix. It don't get much better than that!
