Went up to Idaho on saturday with my brother inlaw. Fished deep creek from 7am-1pm. Was having a hard time catching until my hummingbird unfroze (thats a first) and we found the fish suspended 14-25 feet in 54 feet of water. After that we smoked the bows. Nothing big but still fun lost count after 30 fish each.Fished off the dam 13" of ice.Used small spoon tipped with 1/4 crawler above a ratso tipped with a mealy. Wish i had my shelter it was COLD!!!!

I've fished Deep Creek a lot in years past. We always did real well in shallow water, less than 10 feet. Great job.[reply][/reply][reply]

We tried in shallow 14' at first and picked up a few but not much action did alright in about 30' but seemed to be more fish the deeper we got. It may have just been the time of day because the fishing got better by the hour.

Thanks for the report.
Don't forget to come over to the Idaho board once and a while.

I have caught two deformed fish this winter out of deep--involving their tails. I don't know if it was parasitic, but I did filet one and it did not look good on the inside.
